5th Anniversary of the "East-West Mutual Understanding" Association TO FRIENDS, MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS OF THE "EAST-WEST MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING" ASSOCIATION,COMPANIES, INSTITUTIONS AND ALL GOODWILL PEOPLE

Ladies and Gentlemen!

The Standard Foundation Committee of the "East-West Mutual Understanding" Social-Cultural Association turns with a kind request to all members, friends and supporters, companies, institutions and all goodwill people to support the initiative of founding of our Association’s official Standard.

In 2015 "East-West Mutual Understanding" Association celebrates 5th anniversary of the founding. We thank all, who supported us since the foundation. On this occasion, from Association’s members came an initiative to found the organization’s officlal Standard, in accordance with the old Polish tradition.

For the community of Association’s members, volunteers and friends, the hand-embroidered Standard will be a remarkable symbol of a mission and aims realized by us, as well as laudable values of our organization, which are: brotherhood and fraternity of nations, mutual understanding, dialogue, solidarity and mutual respect between nations in the East and in the West of Europe and of the world.

The Standard will externalize the unity and cooperation of our community and our personal alignment with it. The Standard will accompany us during important moments and ceremonies of our Association, our local environment, the region, Poland and Europe as well. We will unite around the Standard in the moments of sorrow and joy. We would like our delegation with the Standard-bearer to regularly participate in ecclesial, state, self-government, organizational and funeral ceremonies, significant for the our Association’s community. 

Ceremonial handover and sacrifice of the Standard, combined with 5th anniversary of the Association, is planned on the 12th of September 2015 in Wroclaw, Poland (Jerzmanowo district). This is a significant place, where for over a year our biggest cultural and educational centre - The House of Friendship of Nations has been functioning. H.E. Archbishop Marian Golebiewski will celebrate a solemn Mass at 11.00 in the parish church in Wroclaw-Jerzmanowo, as well as sacrifice the Standard. Then in the square at the House of Friendship of Nations held the presentation of the Standard and honoring the founders. After that the jubilee picnic begin.

Representatives of state and self-government of Lower Silesia, dignitaries of Catholic and Orthodox Church, founders of the Standard, members, friends and volunteers of our Association, representatives of media, NGOs, educational and academic centers, cultural institutions, residents of Wroclaw, Olawa and our region, guests from other regions and abroad will take part in the ceremony. 

During a ceremony, the founders will be asked personally (or by the representative) to nail a “foundation emblem” to the Standard’s flagstaff. A symbolic nail with a head in the form of a shield and manually engraved founder’s name and surname (or the name of legal entity) and geographical place (or function served), will be a memorial declaration of support of each individual, family, company or institution that intends in this way to confirm on the Standard a personal presence in the history of the Association.

We kindly ask you to voluntarily donate the amount you find appropriate for the foundation of the Standard of "East-West Mutual Understanding" Association. 

The value of donations has been defined as follows: 
* regardless the amount - log into the memorial Book of Founders and Donors;
* donation from 20 PLN (5 EUR or 7 USD) - honorable diploma for the founder;
* donation from 250 PLN (65 EUR or 75 USD) - personal nail with silver colored shield;
* donation from 500 PLN (125 EUR or 145 USD) - personal nail with gold-plated shield.

Every founder, regardless the amount of a donation, will be logged into the memorial Book of Founders and Donors. Every person, who donates for the Standard at least 20 PLN (5 EUR or 7 USD) will receive honorable diploma.
